SOCOM FireTeam Bravo finally has a release date of November 8th, 2005. New screen shots are available over at PSPMagazines.com!

I’m not sure about you guys, but this is a welcome addition to the PSP catalog in my opinion. Now if I can just wait until the end of 2006 for Splinter Cell to make it over. =)

Nyko Charger Case Review

Battery life. It’s like blood to us portable gamers. With plentiful battery life the world is our oyster. We can see far away places, race through exotic cities, or vanquish evil foes; all without leaving the comfort of our home. Without it, well… It’s all we can do sometimes to not throw our devices through a window when the battery conks out just as we are getting settled.

When Sony first announced the PSP’s projected battery life estimates way back at E3 ’04, 2 hours didn’t seem like much play time at all. And when it was compared to the Gameboy Advance’s 10 hours riots nearly broke out.

It turns out that we didn’t have much to worry about. The PSP launched and it turns out that we can get an average of 3-5 hours on a battery charge, not too shabby at all for the powerhouse in portable gaming that is the PSP. But what if 4 hours isn’t good enough for your marathon gaming sessions, and you want more? Enter Nyko Technologies and its Charger Case.

Quick Hits – NBA Review

Welcome to the next edition of the “Quick Hits” review. Where you get PSP reviews, in a fraction of the time

This time we’ll be diving into an old, hehe…old, title known as NBA, by 989 studios. Upon booting up the UMD the soundtrack that starts up is great, although I am getting a little tired of the cliché hip-hop found in most basketball games. With Sony backing this title, I should think a wider range of music is at their disposal. Also The crowd cheering is a bit bland, but it is just crowd cheering. What should I expect, right? Everything else is there though, from the sneaker squeaks to the announcer on the overhead telling you who knocked it out of bounds.

Wipeout Pure Classic Pack #1 released!

While I was coding away on pgoz.com it looks like a new Wipeout Pure download pack was released! It’s called “Classic Pack #1″, and it rocks. This description was posted on the WipeOut Pure homepage, but it’s a little bit misleading.

“This pack features immersive recreations of the mid 22nd century evolutions of the classic Odess Keys and Altima VII tracks. Also in this download are the stylish Goteki 45 FX300 ship and matching skin.”

This pack adds 1 track (Altima VII), 1 ship + skin from team Goteki and for the first time in North America contains new music! Included are 2 classic tracks from previous Wipeouts, an addon I was asking for in my last podcast! Thanks Sony! Also when playing a classic track explosions and missles have an old school look to them, which ads to the nostalgia factor greatly.

Sony did a great job with Wipeout and extending it’s life with the dwnload packs. If you don’t have it already… Get This Game! You’ll be happy you did.

PSP Podcast #15.5 pgoz.com is here!

PSP Podcast #15.5 is now ready and available for download!

I hinted at the end of #15 that I had a sppecial announcement to make in the coming days, and here it is! Today I would like to announce the launch of a new PSP website. http://pgoz.com/

Don’t worry though, this site will not replace Pgrevolution, infact this new site *is* portable gaming revolution! Confused? Let me explain… With the launch of the PSP Firmware 2.0 Sony added a web browser accessable at anytime from the menu. It’s a great browser, and I have been having a great time using it to visit all my favorite websites. One limitation that becomes apparent is the screen size whilst browseing. The PSP screen has a width of 480 pixels, and most web pages are designed around a 800 or 1024 pixel width browser. This translates into a lot of sideways scrolling on the PSP and can get annoying at times.

Enter http://pgoz.com, or as we like to call it PSP News by the ounce! A PSP news site formatted to fit on the PSP screen. But just doing news would be boring, over at pgoz.com we also have bacgrounds for download… podcasts to listen to… and games to play… all from within the PSP web browser!

So hopefuly you’ll check out our new site and let us know what you think. Also if you have any backgrounds to share, please send those to us at backgrounds @ pgoz.com

If you would like to give it a listen you can either download it directly [mp3 8min 4mb], or subscribe to the podcast RSS feed in your favorite aggregator.

Following his graduation from the Nihon University School of Art, Mizuguchi joined SEGA in 1990, producing SEGA Rally 1 and 2, and SEGA Touring Car Championship. Podcast #15 will be a little late

Just wanted to let my loyal listeners know that Podcast #15 will be a little bit late. I ran into some recording problems, read: Garageband crashed and took most of the unsaved work with it. I’ll have to re-record most of the podcast and that will take time.

Just wanted to say that I was sorry the podcast will be late, look for it within the next day or so.
