Its finally here! If you decided to update past the 3.03 firmware and missed the downgrader, you probably kicked yourself. Well kick yourself not anymore; the 3.50 downgrader has been released.

People are skeptical when they downgrade as they fear of making their PSP “bricked” or non-functional. Well the Noobz team have made sure this downgrade is as simple as simple can be. At no point should you feel stuck in downgrading. As long as you can read and understand English, own a PSP with firmware 3.50 or below and a copy of Lumines (Any version such as platinum ETC), then you can downgrade. You may also want to try out the ‘Illuminati Hello World’ homebrew that you can try on a 3.50 PSP to get the feel of downgrading. You can see ‘Illuminati Hello World’ below:

With this new downgrader, it detects which motherboard your PSP has and downgrades it to that type. This way, its safer than just guessing. You may want to ask, ‘But all this downgrading must break PSP’s?’. Well thats were you are wrong. The Noobz team say that if your PSP breaks then you either didn’t follow the instructions 100% or you are one of the unlucky percent that just break.

Overall, I think anyone who has a PSP should take a look into the homebrew scene as it offers a wide scale to view your PSP from. I know that everyone that I helped to downgrade said that they fully enjoy their PSP’s now and it brings a whole new life to the PSP area.

Hope you enjoyed this as I am really exited for you guys as I want you to join me into the homebrew scene and take full advantage of your lovable handheld’s

Cheers
-Matt

As we view the ‘Most Wanted games this Summer’, we just can’t help but notice that more and more games are being put on hold or canceled. Manhunt 2 has been crossed off the summer games list. Not only will Manhunt 2 not make the July ship date that Take-Two promised, but development for the game has been put on hold altogether.

A Take-Two representative reveals, “We continue to stand behind this extraordinary game. We believe in freedom of creative expression, as well as responsible marketing, both of which are essential to our business of making great entertainment.”

Lets just hope this game will be on our shelves soon.

Earlier this year we heard that Jackass would not only be a series and a film, but also a game. Skeptic’s said that it would never happen, but now new screenshot’s have been released, Jackass: The Game may be closer then we thought.

Jackass: The Game includes over 30 different stunts you can compete at. These include games such as Whack-a-Weeman and the famous Trolley Racing as you can see below:

Multiplayer has also been talked about and we hear that you can save your best replays to upload onto the internet for the whole world to see. Head to Head mode is the top favorite as you can challenge your friends but no Infrastructure mode has been heard yet.

Overall, Jackass: The Game is getting more popular as gamers discover more abouts its concept. I hope this game is worth buying and not just a rent.

How cool will it be to use that stylus to perform some finishing move that sends your opponent into the next life in some unpleasant manner. This seems to be the series that will just not die. And some how Midway always manages to find some new aspect or some idea that breathes life into this franchise.

Maybe it will be Mortal Kombat the RPG!

Well now there is no excuse now, Tower Records is having a 25% off all video games. So you can get EBA $22.49. Some other great titles that are also on sale. Head on over there and see if you can pick up some great Nintendo DS love, or even some 360, PS2, PS3, XBox 1, and PSP. Strange enough there are no Wii games in their online store. Anyway, head on over there and save some money and get some of those titles you may have been holding out for.

The famous RPG series, Elder Scrolls, is headed for the PSP. This new game will be entitled The Elder Scrolls Travels: Oblivion, and will not be a simple port. Not too much is known, but unfortunately, previous handheld versions of the series on N-Gage and mobile phones also bore the “Elder Scrolls Travels” prefix. I am praying that this edition of Travels will be much better than the previous games bearing the moniker. I love Oblivion on my Xbox 360, and can’t wait to be able to take it on the road with me. 1Up has mentioned that more information will be announced in the November issue of the Official Playstation Magazine. This issue sounds like it’s becoming one of the single best issues ever, also containing a playable demo of Guitar Hero II, and Killzone Liberation for the PSP. This new game is set for release Spring 2007.

5 new PSP colors were shown off at TGS this week, although they were not shown as shipping units just demos. Sony revealed the PSP sporting bright yellow, metallic red, metallic blue, and 2 camouflage variations. Personally, I think that all of these new colours are appalling and am not interested in any of them should they ever ship. Lets hope that Sony thinks this out before flooding the market with alternate coloured units. Nintendo can get away with it because the GB, GBA and DS are nearly throw-away cheap.

Killzone: Liberation is a game that many people around this site have been waiting to come out for quite some time. The PS2 title Killzone was a good game, and fans have been waiting for some sort of a follow-up. Today in the mail, I got my hands on the demo of Killzone: Liberation, and let me tell you all, its good. The demo takes place in a dock area similar to the one shown in the screen below. Like most previews have stated, this is a top down third person shooter instead of a first-person shooter that the PS2 Killzone was. In Liberation cover is your friend, if you “run and gun” in this game you will pay for it. Ducking is done by pressing the right shoulder button, shooting is done through the square button. This feels really good as you are playing through the level. Targeting is done with a laser that locks on to your enemies. The controls feel nice and perfect for this game.

However, I do have some complaints with the demo. It is really short, but it is hard, so that makes up for it. I died many times trying to fight against a rocket-launcher guy, while only using only my machine gun. A well placed grenade took care of him though. All in all this is shaping up to be a great game. Look for it in the coming months.

Yet another game in the Prince of Persia series is going portable. This new game is entitled Prince of Persia: Rival Swords, coming to Europe’s shores before North America’s for a change! This game is expected this holiday season in Europe, but all of us on the western side of the pond won’t see it until 2007. The game will be set in the latest PoP universe, from Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones. Ubisoft has released more details on the game

In Prince of Persia Rival Swords, the Prince makes his way home to Babylon, bearing with him Kaileena, the enigmatic Empress of Time, and unspeakable scars from the Island of Time. But instead of the peace he longs for, he finds his kingdom ravaged by war and Kaileena the target of a brutal plot. When she is kidnapped, the Prince tracks her to the palace — only to see her murdered by a powerful enemy. Her death unleashes the Sands of Time, which strike the Prince and threaten to destroy everything he holds dear. Cast out on the streets, hunted as a fugitive, the Prince soon discovers that the Sands have tainted him, too. They have given rise to a deadly Dark Prince, whose spirit gradually possesses him.

Versus play in timed races as either the Prince or Dark Prince. Interrupt and impede your opponent’s progress by activating switches in your own level that will trigger traps and obstacles in their level.

I personally enjoyed the previous PSP installment in the series, and I hope this one is just as good!

Recently, pictures of Sony’s planned camera and GPS add-ons flooded gaming sites all over the web. Sony has announced the Japanese release date and price of both.

The 1.3 mega pixel camera will be capable of taking pictures at either 480×272 or 640×480 resolution, and shooting 30 fps video 15 seconds at a time. The camera will set us back roughly $43 USD including a storage case.

The GPS will also sit on top of your PSP, connected to the USB port. The GPS will refresh every second and will need separately sold map packs to run. The GPS receiver will cost approximately $52 USD.

Both of these new items will be released in Japan in December 7th. Unfortunately, Sony has not announced any North American or European release dates. Hit the jump for a picture of the camera.
