Guitar Hero Might be Coming to DS/PSP

Given all the rumors that have been wildly circulating around the whole Guitar Hero franchise in the past couple of weeks (i.e. the ’80’s edition Guitar Hero in the works, that Harmonix wouldn’t be working on the eventual Guitar Hero III and that the names Guitar Villain and Drum Villain had been trademarked as possible game titles)… it comes as no surprise that there is some speculation that there may be a title in the series coming to a handheld system near you at some point in the future.
(concerning the DS and PSP) We don’t want to speculate at this point, though we can definitely say we are exploring every option there is, as we have an incredible fanbase which still has tons of room for expansion. The mobile and handheld market is continuing to boom, and the opportunity for growth remains incredibly strong, though whether or not this market is a truly viable option for ‘Guitar Hero’ remains to be seen.†- Red Octane’s Dusty Welch
I’m not too sure how this would work… considering that the whole point behind the game is to have the actual guitar contoller, but it’s a pretty neat idea! Personally, I’m a huge fan of both Guitar Hero games and would love to see more of the same… even an ’80’s edition!

actually i think is a good idea (not 4 the DS) but 4 the PSP u can put the guitar in the USB port but it would b dumb 2 play it on public.

The idea of Guitar Hero is to use a controller that is similar to a guitar but for the DS and PSP the controller would be to big compared to it.
On the other hand, the game also came with the function of using the controller just in case no one had money to buy the whole guitar box. So I think the idea is that they will use the controller function instead of the guitar function.
There is one postive about this is that they may add in the function of adding custom songs (This will make some people happy for not having the guitar.) but most people have hacked their Guitar Hero 2 to do that. Not sure they will do that but it will help them out with this product.
I give this product a 2/5 cause they are trying to bring it to a handheld and it “might” have the custom song add on which would be good for banned members of scorehero.com or people that are to stupid to hack their guitar hero 2 game. Bad side is most people already got custom songs and the guitar would be to big for the handheld if they go with the guitar function.
with the ds you could have like the guitar on the touch screen and press it like that but it would be kinda dificult to play
umm…im typing off of my psp right now and that is the best idea ever!(bettr than halo)almost jk… (there is a homebrew vers. no controller) it would have 2 be upside down though cause of controller
I been wanting GH for the PSP sense I got my PSP.
I don’t want to get a PS2 or xbox 360 I just want to be able to sit my PSP on it’s cradle and jam with GH. I also have an attachment so I can view my PSP on the TV so that would be ok too.
Of course conecting the GH controler via wifi would be best but, which ever.
Please birng GH to the PSP.

All that is needed is an adapter for the standard GH plug to go into the one of the data ports. Playing a fake guitar in public is no more ridiculous with a hand-held box than prancing in front of a big screen TV.
I agree with Lee’s post that all I want is to play it at my desk or sitting in a chair. The PSPs screen is big enough for me alone to watch, and with the earbuds I can rock out and destroy my own hearing without stressing out the neighbors.
Who cares if it’s cool? I’m not in Central Park beating on a pickle bucket for quarters, I’m just looking to have some fun playing a very entertaining game!
have the guitar connected to PSP using the wirless(WI-FI)

then if your on a PSP slim just connected the PSP to a tv
Haha I would think that people would just play it with the controller built into the DS or PSP type of systems. There is no point to plug in a huge guitar into portable systems! That would defeat the whole purpose, lol.

I’ve been meaning to get guitar hero going on the psp…never thought of using wifi. Hmmmm….
Well, Is a great Idea Bringing Guittar Hero for PSP and I’ll say for NDS too Ithink….
Well For PSP we could take the PSP-2000 or PSP Slim & Lite, have a Mini sized or Normal Size Wireless GH Gittar that connects to the PSP adn then conect the Slim PSP to the TV with the Tv or HDTV video Cable and you will see them on the Screen, like the Normal GH , GH2 and GH3!
Also if u dont have money for the Wireless GH Gittar for PSP just use your PSP Slim like a Guittar of course connected to the TV and use it as a GH gittar…
Joystick would be the String
and the X, [ ], ( ) & /\ Buttons would be the GH Guitar Buttons!
R Button would be Wammy Bar (since the R button would be more accessible than the L in this PSPGittar Mode)

Well here comes more difficult, since this PSP doesn’t connect to the TV as the Slim, unless U buy a Hardware to connect it ( it exist)

Pick your GH Gittar and Play GH on the PSP in a Screen of 472×270! (lol)
Or just make some kind of Wireless connection to the Slim so were u play 1 vs 1 Proface off or battle the Slim will show on TV the Two Guittar Tabs and the PSP-1000 would be the PSPGittar Mode or just use the Wireless GH Gittar for the PSP and the PSP slim will accept up to 2 GH Wireless Gittars when is conected on the TV.

Well u can use the Pad if some one makes one Dance pad Wireless and u could connect it to the PSP (1000 or 2000) so u use the Dance Pad to play all those cool Unlimited Dance Songs that are available on the PSPDDR! But with the PSP Slim u can use the TV Video Cable to see it on the TV using FUSA FS and the DDR Pad via Wireless…

it would be awesome for PSP you just use the joystick for the strum bar and attach keys on it like the DS

The guitar hero for Nintendo ds was a good idea
see they can ake it for psp by using the analog stick to strum the notes and build a a device wat u connect to trough the usb port wit 4 frets what can attach to the ack were u press with ur right hand
