WiiSpot Podcast #0 – The Genesis

Welcome to the WiiSpot Podcast Teaser. Edgar and I got together to record a DS:Life Podcast a month and a bit ago, and ended up chatting about the Wii for an hour and a half!

We decided that the Wii is interesting enough to warrant its own podcast, and thought that releasing this as the “genesis” would be a great idea. Enjoy! Oh, and don’t mind the strange predictions that we had.. no the Weather Channel doesn’t have Miis giving us the weather. It should though!

Take care and watch out for The WiiSpot.com Podcast Episode #1 soon!

    Hi Lloyd,

I’ve been listening to your PSP podcast for about 4 months and am a big fan. I enjoy the variety of information in your show and your in-depth knowledge of the platform, games, and technology.

I’m in the US Navy reserves and bought a PSP, along with several other squadron-mates, prior to an Iraq deployment. In our off time we really enjoyed the system, particularly playing ad-hoc SOCOM. Since then I’ve bought a number of games to include Daxter, Valkyrie Profiles, Burnout Legends and GTA Vice City. I’ve really enjoyed the games, and the ability to access internet, MP3s, etc.

I’m considering a Wii purchase. I have a young family (3 girls 2,4, and 6. Hang in there with your little boy. It just gets more fun!) Your WiiSpot podcast provided some great info. You guys are very enthusiastic and I’m fired up to try one.

One comment/question. You seemed kind of down on the PSP in the WiiSpot. I never got this impression from the PSP podcasts. Do you really think it is a system that Sony is abandoning? Do you think the good PSP games are drying up?

Thanks for the great work. I look forward to the next version of both podcasts.

    Dave

    Lloyd,

I’m a big fan of the PSP Podcast. I’ve been listening for about 4 months.

I’m in the US Navy reserves, and along with some fellow squadron-mates, bought a PSP last Spring before going on deployment. We really enjoyed the system in our downtime. A big favorite was ad-hoc SOCOM sessions. Since getting back I’ve expanded my PSP library to include Daxter, Burnout Legends, GTA Vice City, SOCOM 2, and Valkyrie Profiles.

I have a young family – 3 girls (2,4, and 6… hang in there… it will only get more fun as your boy gets older), and a very cool wife who is open to try gaming. Your Wiispot podcast was full of good info and the enthusiasm of you and Edgar has got me fired up to get a Wii.

One question/comment: In the Wiispot you seemed down on Sony and on the PSP. Do you really believe it is a dead or abandoned system? Are their not any more good games scheduled to come out for it? I hope it has a lot of life left in it. I like its versatality – games are great and plenty of other functions as well.

Thanks for the great job and your thoughts,
    Dave
