DS PSP comparison

There has been a lot hype circulating around recently of how well Nintendo is doing (and they really are doing quite well, but that’s not the point) and that Sony is slowly sliding behind in popularity. I mean, a couple of weeks ago I wrote an article, comparing the stocks of Nintendo and Sony and it was a pretty clear picture.

Now, the folks over at PSP Fanboy have gone ahead and put together a comparison chart (shown above) of the sales numbers between the DS and PSP during their first 22 months of being out – the first four months of the DS aren’t shown, it starts comparing numbers from when the PSP was released.

I think the chart is pretty impressive, and I found it a little suprising, too! I wasn’t aware that the sales numbers were quite so close! Of course… this is just North America… you should check out the Japanese version of the same chart… it shows quite a different picture!

i don’t think thats quite right, cause from Various news articles, the PSP is well behind and Ds leading by a huge amount… anyways… PSP fanboys had to rwrite that to prove something i suppose…

i dont see how that is possible??? i have been reading all over that the DS has squated the PSP even in the USA….. ther emust be some number fixing here!!! that is what you get when there are statisticians!

That’s accurate and coming from someone like me who invest in Nintendo & Sony stocks. Both portable to me are good and I believe the PS3 and Wii will prolonge the sales with link feature both systems have shown for their portables.

Man, there is sure alot of angry nintendo fanboys here, as of late according to NPD the psp has been selling more

Wait, I own a PSP and a DS and also live in the US. I’m telling you that the DS is smoking PSP in sales. The DS has sold over 10 Million in the US. I like the PSP but they do not have the best titles and people see that. Tell me where I can find the site where it says that the PSP sole 10 million in just in the US and ill believe you.

I tend to notice that Sony give shipped figures and Nintendo tend to give sold figures, don’t know if this is the case here
