“I love gooooooold.” Sorry… I couldn’t resist the quote from Goldmember – it just popped in my head… I’m not too sure why…
I don’t know if this is a good thing or a bad thing… but the folks over at Sony have decided to release yet another coloured PSP for the gamers over in Japan. Over here in North America, unless you’ve decided to go ahead and import a different colour, we’ve been stuck with the basic black PSP since it was released in 2005. Don’t get me wrong though… I’m not complaining, I think that black totally suits the portable little system!
So now, on top of the colours they already have (namely: Black, Ceramic White, Pink, Metallic Blue and Silver) you’re now going to be able to pick yourself up a PSP with the “interesting” name of Champagne Gold.
I found it quite funny how the folks over at Joystiq went ahead and translated the announcement using google, which contained phrases like:
The system “has the noble shining” and lets users “adjust to your own baggage and fashion… in accessory feeling.” It also stresses that this new PSP color will be “promoting the further enlargement [of the PSP] platform powerfully in the future in the Japanese country.
We’ll have to see how the system actually sells when it is released on February 22nd. Japanese gamers will be able to pick the system up all by it’s lonesome ($175 USD) or in a bundle pack that includes Monster Hunter Portable 2nd Edition along with some shwag: a custom case, cleaner, a wriststrap, custom PSP skins and more (going for around $230 USD). Although why you would want to go and cover up all that goldey awesomeness, we’ll never know!
If you are so inclined, you can go ahead and pre-order yourself a Champagne Gold PSP from Play-Asia.
