Rumor – Redesigned PSP to hit E3 2007?

Yup, another rumor about the supposedly imminent announcement about a redesigned PSP. This one hits PGRevolution from the folks over at PSP Updates. Apparently we just may get some information about the newly decked out PSP’s at this year’s E3 in Los Angeles in mid-May.
According to these rumors, the new PSP will include/omit the following features:
- Built-in 8GB flash memory chips
- No hard disk drive
- More streamlined, thinner and lighter design
- Built-in still/video camera
PSP Updates goes on to point out that in the August 2006 issue of PlayStation Magazine, there was information pointing to a March 2007 release date in Japan for the new PSP… other intel points to sometime after E3 and even pushes the date back so far as Christmas 2007 or early 2008.
We’ll have to wait and see how it all pans out, but I’d be interested to see how they plan to streamline the design… I found the system quite thin and compact enough as it is!
