Strong Showing for DS in September!

According to a post over at Jeux-France, the DS trounced the PSP in US sales by a whopping 250,000 units to bring the total sold to an amazing 6,246,000 while the PSP trails at 5,175,000.
We need to keep in mind that the DS was released ahead of the PSP, but this still shows how prevalent Nintendo continues to be in the handheld market. If you’ll also notice in the software sales portion of the stats that Nintendo boasts two titles in the top ten while there’s zilch for the PSP.
Sony needs to step it up a few notches and figure out what they’re doing wrong. It’s still a little too early in the game to formally announce the DS as the handheld winner, but things aren’t looking good for the sleek black machine.
