Death Jr. 2 Producer’s Blog

In case you haven’t heard, Konami is putting out a sequel to their mostly panned action adventure title that came out last August. We know that they had high hopes, since it was the first game announced for the PSP… but they fell a little shorter than they hoped in ratings. Nevertheless, they decided to put together a sequel which is scheduled to be released at the end of this month… appropriately enough, on Halloween when you consider that they’ve named it “Death Jr. 2: Root of Evil”.
Enough about the game itself though, since I’m sure that Cara will end up previewing it in some future edition of The Scene. (hint hint)
So IGN is playing host to James Stanley, one of the game’s producers, as he blogs about creating the sequel. He discusses several issues that gamers had with the original title, as well as what they’re doing about it to make it better:
One of the early tasks for the development team working on a sequel is to identify what our audience believed we did right and make sure we don’t move away from what’s successful. People were generally impressed with the DJ characters, the wide range of weapons, and the frantic pace of the combat. As the producer, it was my responsibility to understand the concerns of Konami, our publisher, and make sure they were also addressed. Camera & Controls were their #1 concern and we made sure we made our improvements early on in development.
His first blog entry came out just this past Monday, so if you are so inclined you can follow the updates right up to the release date.

I did a search for sites that might help me not feel so alone in my depression and hopelessness. This one came up so I figured I would comment. You know what they say, the older you get, the less you are invited to weddings, and the more you go to funerals. On that positive note, I invite you to come to my blog, http://lazyfathead.blogspot.com, and join me in my delightful spiral into death depression and nothingness.
Thanks for your time. Remain happy ?
