Homestar to support GPS

A telescope...

Impress Watch revealed today that Sega’s upcoming educational game, Homestar, will support the GPS peripheral announced earlier this year. Homestar will use the GPS device to gauge the players location and display a picture of the night sky that one would see at that location.

For those of you not in the know, Homestar is an educational “game” from Sega that will essentially turn your PSP into a portable planetarium. Homestar includes 5 million stars and other extraterrestrial objects as well as 15 guided tours of the heavens. There are even descriptions of different stellar bodies. A must have for astronomy enthusiasts! Homestar is slated to be released on 10/19 in Japan however no US release date has been announced.

Whaaaaat? That would be mega kick ass to like…take a shot on hole 1 at home, then on the way to my ball, do it again in hot shots.

That’d be one killer GPS system! :D

Thing is, not everywhere has a hotspot, so very many places will be without GPS useage.

I don’t think you understand how GPS works Mitchy. You don’t need wifi in order to use GPS; it works via satellite. :)
