PSP firmware update 2.80 available via network update

As usual, the update is available through the network update function built into the PSP before it is available for download on the update website. New features include:
- You can now download video and image content under [RSS Channel];
- You can now register devices via a wireless LAN access point under [LoactionFree Player];
- You can now play AAC files with file extension .3gp under [Music]; and
- You can now play content saved in “Music,” “Picture” and “Video” folders on a Memory Stick.
And you can be sure that Sony has patched a few more security wholes. So homebrew fans beware. This update will indubitably stop your homebrew adventures dead in its tracks.

Hey why is it t that the news of the new update 2.8 for the psp is not shown in sony’s oficial psp website like Usual I dont have wifi in my house right now and I was depending on down loading the updatte via a .exe download what happend?

well i have not tryed the RSS video feature yet on the new firmware but the demo is really good as im a big soccer/football fan , im normally into pes5 but this game is originally mite actually buy the game , im not sure if this is any use to Mitchyd but try yourpsp.com thats where i got the demo from.

I love updates! They’re so exciting! Do you remember first getting a psp with 1.5 and there was like nothing on it. It was so plain and you had to use that thing in Wipeout Pure to browse the internet. The psp has improved so much, and again, who cares about homebrew?!
i love the new patch.
but i was hoping if there will be a new patch, i hope they can resolve the low memory problem. the duo stick will act as an additional memory. like virtual memory on pc. since there are 2gb sony duostick.
i usually use and carry my psp all the time. and surf after beating jinpachi on tekken
i love my psp and i hope more cool things to come in succeeding patch.

I want to play homebrew but I dont really want to spend 100 bucks to get a liquid platinum.
I might but I could never install it myself so I would have to pay another 75 bucks or so to get it installed :(
I think I will wait for a downgrader but I do like the new features.

i didn’t spend over a thousand dollars for stuff for my psp just to play mariokart you dumbass. sony brought a great thing into this world and named it the psp. homebrew is an insult to it. i like games that stretch the limits of my psp and i spend all day listening to music on it. and besides, they will eventually come out with better flash games that will surpass the shitty homebrew. my friend is like, hey guess what, and i say what mate? and he says that he can play mariokart and im like you fuckin dumbass, i can stream rss hookup with locationfree player listen to wma formats play flash games and a whole bunch more stuff. can your psp do that with shitty 1.50? and he’s like well uh uhuh……. no mate. and im like well there you go. fuck home brew! email me at sot21c@aol.com . more power to sony, mates!!!

Eh, I think you fruit cakes are missing the point. If people are able to play homebrew on their 1.50 version PSP, they’re also able to play ISO files of actual PSP games. ie, get ALL PSP games for FREE. You understand?
