Portable Gaming Revolution

One of the surprises coming out of GDC was the announcement that Metal Slug Collection would be making it’s way to the PSP this fall. Since it’s first appearance in the arcades, i’ve probably personally dropped several thousands of dollars playing Metal Slug or one of it’s sequals. Hell, I even picked up a NGPocket Color portable to play the portable versions!

SNK PLAYMORE USA CORPORATION, the US publishing arm of the SNK PLAYMORE CORPORATION, announced today that in celebration of the 10th Anniversary of their classic arcade franchise, METAL SLUG, they will be releasing the greatest array of METAL SLUG titles ever assembled for the PSP system in fall 2006. The METAL SLUG COLLECTION will feature six great METAL SLUG titles from the past on one UMD. Included in the collection will be METAL SLUG, METAL SLUG 2, METAL SLUG X, METAL SLUG 3, METAL SLUG 4, and METAL SLUG 5.

It looks like it will be a great collection. No word yet on Online multiplayer support, but you can bank on there being some form of Ad-Hoc play when this game dropps in the fall.
