Resident Evil 4 on PSP?

An interesting video has surfaced on the ever accurate YouTube (/sarcasm off) supposedly showing off a PSP version of Resident Evil 4 being developed.

What do you guys think? I personally call BS, but I have been wrong before…once..I think.

Thanks to Kotaku.

well good news 4 u guys. Theres a ps2 emulator for psp. u just need to torrent it. it’s on thepiratebay.org. search “ps2 emulator for psp” or something like that. works 4 me =]. u just need 2 convert ps2 games into eboot files or cso/iso or torrent/rip from ur ps2 disks. call it bs if u want, but all i care is i hav ps2 and u dont (friendly way). ^_^

The guy above me is full of shit, there is no “PS2 to PSP emulator”. He said that you have to convert the games into “eboot files or cso/iso” files. Funny thing is, eboots and CSO/ISO’s are NOT the same. Eboots are the actual games embedded into the eboot and launched via the emulator architecture that is incorporated when you use a PSX converter into the eboot. The eboot itself is the emulator and game incorporated into one file and prepared to be ran on PSPs. CSO’s can only be used to launch PSP backups, there are no “PS2 CSO’S” as CSO’s are UMD game images that are in a compressed format. You ever notice how if you boot your PSP up, toggle the USB mode to “UMD”, then connect it to your computer, that there’s a single ISO file in there? That’s the sole reason why you’re able to launch ISO’s through your PSP without any problems. PS2 games aren’t the same, and you can’t just make an ISO/CSO out of a PS2 game disc’s contents and launch it like that. Put simply, you can’t use eboots with emulators, although maybe sometime in the near future we may find an emulator that incorporates ISO support, but the fact that “Rippon1″ doesn’t even know what he’s talking about is proof enough that what he says is complete bullshit.

    Hello

    O.K.
There is no PS2 Emulator for the psp and there never will be, it is impossible, no debate. There is however a PSone emulator made by sony themselves called popstation. It is preinstalled with firmware. However if you really want to use it get Dark Alex’s custom firmware and get popsloader (Loads pops from older firmwar versions) this way you can play all resi’s up to 3 on the psp and it works great!!
The video itself is definately fake, however I do beleive that the game can be ported (Never emulated) to the Psp especially after seeing what can be done with Syphon Filter, Metal gear etc. This would be a great idea as Resi 4 is an amazing game. Whilst at it they should also port MGS 2 and 3. And Resi Code V.

In any case this video is sadly a fake.
