Portable Gaming Revolution

Part two of our homebrew deluge, this time focusing on games.

First on the list is ThrottleX 0.2 by Anonymous Tipster. ThrottleX is a 3D buggy game in which you guide your buggy through a set path, passing through gates to complete the level.

This is the second release of the ThrottleX buggy racing platformer. This version comes with five new levels (17-21), with the last two being particularly mean. There are also 4 clues spread throughout the whole game (which includes <16) which tell you how to unlock a secret hidden within the game.

WARNING: IF YOU HAVE A PREVIOUS save.sav FILE, COPY IT TO ANOTHER DRIVE, INSTALL THROTTLEX 0.2, THEN COPY YOUR OLD SAVE INTO THE THROTTLEX DIRECTORY. OTHERWISE YOU WILL HAVE TO START AGAIN FROM LEVEL 1.

A few notes:
- By pressing Select in-game, a screenshot will be saved to the root of the memory stick
- The wheels are still square.

Have fun, try and find all the clues. It’s worth it ;)

Next is Lunar Landar v0.5 which is a port of the classic game of the same name in which you float around the surface of the moon in your Lunar Lander dodging obstacles as you try to complete the level. This final release now supports sounds and music.

Finally, we have MaDGiC Pentomino which is a puzzle game. The goal is to place the Teris-like shapes, called Pentominoes, on the number grid in order to come up with the highest number total possible.

I’ve choose the Pentomino. Searching google, I found numbers of variants that I never heard about that don’t use digits, so I guessed that this gamebase that I learned to play with when I was 10 was the perfect choice.

Each game mode will have its own rules variants. Please refer to the help screen ingame to know more about these variants. Anyway, basic rules are to be known before playing.

The goal is simple, We have some shapes, or more precisely Pentominoes (shapes made with 5 adjacents squares), and you have to place these shapes freely (direction, face) on a grid of random digits between 0 and 9 in order to make that the sum of all covered grid cells digits reach the maximum you can.
