Capdase Twins Case Review

When you think of PSP accessories, the first accessory to enter your mind is probably some sort of system case. Keeping your $200+ portable game system safe is of the utmost importance. There have been a pile released already, and everyone seems to have their favorite; so when a company decides to bring a case to market, it will have to be different then all the others out there. Capdase has done this, and done it well with their Twins Case.

The first thing you’ll notice about the Twins case is its size. This is a large case. Upon further inspection you will notice that the case actually splits in two. One side is a PSP case; the other side provides you ample storage for your accessories. These two sides are connected with a zipper and a snap, making them easy to take apart, but secure to leave together.

Each of these sides is constructed from water resistant nylon, and zip shut with a high quality zipper. Inside the PSP half of the case you will find a plastic bracket, and a soft interior. Your PSP snaps into this bracket quite securely, with two clips that connect into the top screw holes, while the bottom hooks into the little speaker holes. The plastic bracket is on a hinge allowing you to keep your PSP in this case while playing, which is a nice feature. I didn’t find this as comfortable as I would have hoped though so ended taking my PSP in and out when I wanted to play it. One nice feature, however, is the opening on the back of the bracket. This allows you to easily open the UMD door and change UMDs while your PSP is in this case; a feature that most accessory developers seem to leave out. All in all the PSP half of this case is very well designed and functional.

The accessory half of the case presents you with two separate compartments. The first compartment, the one I like to call the media section, has room for you to store 2 UMDs and 2 memory sticks. UMDs just fit into the pockets, so there is no need to place your games in smaller holders first. The other section is a larger accessory storage area. Two elastics will hold down anything you would like to carry. I tend to bring along my power adapter and headphones and found the space quite limiting when trying to jam in my adapter, so some playing around is needed to get everything in there properly.

Each half of the Capdase Twins case does its job well. The sturdy construction assures me that my equipment will be secure. The included carabiner allows me to hook it on my belt or backpack should the need arise. This is a great case that I’m sure will find a place in many PSP owners’ collections. With a price point of $29.99 US, it’s definitely well priced for the features it offers.

Overall Rating: 8/10
