Ok, I’m sure you all are quite sick of hearing about this already… but the logo contest is over! The winners have been chosen and contacted. Once we hear from them and have their game selections in, they will be announced and shown here.
First Place Winner!

Submitted by Attila Juhas. Games chosen were Midnight Club 3: Dub edition and Dead to Rights. The first place prize also came with a Playgear Pocket case!
Second Place Winner!

Submitted by Allen G. Allen chose Midnight Club 3: Dub edition as his game and will get a UMD case as well.
Third Place Winner!

Submitted by Simgish of our Forums! I’ll be sending Simgish a collection of PSP accessories including a screen guard, UMD holder, and a couple other things :)
Thanks to all that entered! The turnout was bigger then expected.

Winner looks nice, no doubting that.
It somehow looks an awful like the official Project Gotham Racing 3 (xb360) logo though…hmm.

They look similar, but not identical. It’s tough to design textual logos that all use the same 3 letters I would think. The winner submitted a few logos that were all different so I would write this one off as a coincidence.
Good catch though! :)
I am a graphic designer and a co-worker wanted me to design some versions for him and I said no. I will have to say the winner totally stole that design. The other versions that he sent you were probably stolen too, or they were so bad because he thought he could come up with something on his own.

Fair enough, I’m not going to debate this.. i’ll leave it up to the original designer (who is also a graphic designer) to defend his design if he chooses to do so. His other designs weren’t bad, they just took a different direction then I wanted to go here.
Similar != Copy
But I will say that it does look awful similar, I just noticed that the project Gotham Racing text below goes Red White Red. I missed this the first time.
The “PGR” was an original idea, I was not trying to copy the official Project Gotham logo. You’re right, they are similar, but not identical. As far as the “Project Gotham Revolution” goes I do admit I was inspired by the Project Gotham Racing text colors. However the colors and the style can be easily changed.
