PSP Drive launches

Looks like a new PSP formatted content site has launched today. PSPDrive is a new site collecting together PSP formatted media of all forms. What sets them apart is the 1 click download option they are beta testing. If you have your PSP connected to your PC clicking the “Send to PSP button will launch a java applet that will place the movie or audio file on your PSP auto-magically. Now this feature is currently in beta testing so your mileage may vary. All in all this is a cool site, hopefully it makes the cut!

I tried it out. I downloaded one of the podcasts. The “Send to PSP” button worked perfectly. After I clicked on it the java applet found my PSP. One more confirmation click and the mp3 was automaticly put into my Music Folder. Unfortunatly I don’t have a HighSpeed USB host on my computer so it takes awhile.

Thanks for the update protheon! I’ll have to give it a go. I’ve been using my mac for the last little while, but will switch back to test this great site out. Also it looks like the PSP Podcast is up there now! That is too cool to see, hopefully that will get some more people turned on to the PSP Podcast.

thanks for the interest in the site. it’s not clear from the front page, but we have mac compatibility for safari and mozilla. we’re working on IE support on the mac.

keep checking back with us because our content is gonna improve a lot over the next few weeks.

I downloaded another podcast today. The one click still worked great. When I went to listen to it on my PSP I found another great surprise. They have utilized the grouping function for mp3s. All the mp3s you download from them are grouped under PSPdrive Downloads. Pretty sweet.

Thanks for the update, that’s great! I’ve chatted a bit with the developpers and apparently this works on PC and mac and in most browsers. It’s a great service that is sure to become huge.
